An area of research studies is manufacturing of transition metal carbides and hard alloys as well as investigation of their properties. Significant part of research activities is devoted to the elaboration of new technological methods of fabrication of the materials. Structural investigations of the alloys are realized by means of optical-electronic (electron diffraction, TEM, SEM and auger spectroscopic) and X-ray methods. Various methods of physical-chemical and mechanical investigations are also used. We work as well on the creation of certain original instruments necessary for the provision of appropriate investigations.
